Northwood College for Girls – Overview
Northwood College is a day school for girls aged from three to eighteen. It was founded in 1878 in central London and moved to its present site in a residential part of Northwood in 1893. It is a charitable trust whose council constitutes the board of governors.
The school believes that education should be about developing a real thirst for learning. It aims to foster success, endeavour, creativity, a spirit of enquiry and strength of mind. Another stated aim is that every day at school should be a fulfilling, enriching experience, within a happy, considerate community. Furthermore, the school’s intention is that the pupils should become decent, kind human beings, with a sense of responsibility and service and a clear moral compass, and that they should be well prepared for the challenges of twenty-first century life.
