Background to the 11 Plus Exam in Buckinghamshire
There are thirteen Grammar Schools in Buckinghamshire that make up The Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools (TBGS). All Schools within this consortium administer the same Secondary Transfer Test (Formerly known as the 11 Plus).

Buckinghamshire 11 Plus Exam Format Details
Children who achieve a score of at least 121 in the test are considered qualified for a Buckinghamshire grammar school.
In Buckinghamshire the Grammar Schools have the same exam which is written by GL. The Buckinghamshire 11 Plus exams have two papers which cover the following topics:
Paper 1
- This paper will focus English comprehension and Verbal Reasoning. This paper will be 45 minutes in length.
Paper 2
- This paper will focus on Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This paper will also be 45 minutes in length.

How to apply to Grammar Schools in Buckinghamshire
If your child goes to a state funded primary school in Buckinghamshire they are automatically registered for the Secondary Transfer Test.
If your child goes to another school and still wants to apply for Aylesbury Grammar School, you need to register your child for testing. This can be done through the Buckinghamshire Council Website.
The deadline to sit the Secondary Transfer Test (Formerly 11 Plus test) is the second week in June.
