What is the pass mark for the 11 Plus in Wirral and Liverpool?

Calday Grange Grammar School Pass Mark

Calday Grange Grammar School uses two papers from CEM with a mix of questions of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. The pass mark for Calday Grange Grammar School across these two papers is 236. If there is an over-subscription of places then priority is offered in the following order:

  1. Looked After Children (A child who is either in the care of a local authority or being provided with accommodation by a local authority).
  2. To those children with a valid medical or social reason supported in writing by a doctor, social worker or appropriate professional person.
  3. Up to 15 children who are entitled to free school meals and who achieve the qualifying score in rank order of distance from the school.
  4. To those children who will have a sibling at the school at the time of admission.
  5. By reference to geographical factors, preference will be given to children with the shortest
    walking distance to the school.

 

St. Anselm’s College

St. Anselm’s College does not have a set pass mark but will offer places to pupils who have reached the required standard in the assessment and testing procedure which consists of 3 tests in English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. If there is an over-subscription of places then priority is offered in the following order:

  1. Baptised Catholic boys, living in the relevant area (defined as Wirral, Cheshire West and Chester and any other areas within 5 miles of the College).
  2. Baptised Christian, non-Catholic boys, living in the relevant area.
  3. Non-Catholic boys whose parents wish them to have a Catholic education.

 

Upton Hall School Pass Mark

The scores from the mocks are added together, and a score of 236 or higher is required to be offered a place. If there is an over-subscription of places then priority is offered in the following order:

  1. Girls who are Baptised Roman Catholics.
  2. Girls who are Roman Catholics but not baptised.
  3. Girls living closed to the school.

 

The Blue Coat School Pass Mark

The Blue Coat School has three tests in Maths, English and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The marks are out of a total of 450, with at least the top 153 children being offered places. The required score varies from year to year but a score from between 330-410 will generally lead to a place. Places are offered following these conditions:

  1. Up to 27 children who are entitled to free school meals and score at least 320 will be offered a place.
  2. The remaining places after condition 1 will be offered to the children with the highest scores. If there is a tie, then the child with the highest Non-Verbal Reasoning score will be offered the place, and if there is still a tie then it will go to the child with the highest English score.

 

West Kirby Grammar School

West Kirby Grammar School uses two papers from CEM with a mix of questions of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. The pass mark for West Kirby Grammar School across these two papers is 236. If there is an over-subscription of places then priority is offered in the following order:

  1. Looked After Girls (A girl who is either in the care of a local authority or being provided with accommodation by a local authority).
  2. To those girls with a valid medical or social reason supported in writing by a doctor, social worker or appropriate professional person.
  3. To those girls who have sisters at the school at the time of application.
  4. By reference to geographical factors, that is distance from the home address to West Kirby Grammar School.

 

Wirral Grammar School for Boys

Wirral Grammar School for Boys uses two papers from CEM with a mix of questions of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. The pass mark for Wirral Grammar School for Boys across these two papers is 236. If there is an over-subscription of places then priority is offered in the following order:

  1. Looked After Boys (A boy who is either in the care of a local authority or being provided with accommodation by a local authority).
  2. To those boys with a valid medical or social reason supported in writing by a doctor, social worker or appropriate professional person.
  3. Up to 15 children who are entitled to free school meals and who achieve the qualifying score in rank order of distance from the school.
  4. To those boys with a brother (sibling) attending the school at the time of application with a reasonable expectation that they will be attending at the time of the start of the new academic year.
  5. By reference to geographical factors, preference will be given to children with the shortest distance from their home to the school.

 

Wirral Grammar School for Girls

Wirral Grammar School for Girls uses two papers from CEM with a mix of questions of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. The pass mark for Wirral Grammar School for Girls across these two papers is 236. If there is an over-subscription of places then priority is offered in the following order:

  1. Looked After Girls (A girl who is either in the care of a local authority or being provided with accommodation by a local authority).
  2. To those girls with a valid medical or social reason supported in writing by a doctor, social worker or appropriate professional person.
  3. Up to 15 children who are entitled to free school meals and who achieve the qualifying score in rank order of distance from the school.
  4. To those girls with a sister (sibling) attending the school at the time of application with a reasonable expectation that they will be attending at the time of the start of the new academic year.
  5. Priority may now be given to members of staff employed by the school provided that they have been employed for a minimum of two years and/or are recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage.
  6. By reference to geographical factors, preference will be given to children with the shortest distance from their home to the school.
