Nature of the 11 Plus in Buckinghamshire

All schools in Buckinghamshire fall into the same consortium and therefore all use the GL 11 Plus exam format. This test consists of two papers each will be 45 minutes long.

Within those two papers pupils will find a mix of individually timed topics.

These will mainly cover verbal skills, non-verbal skills and numerical skills.

The first paper will mainly focus on verbal skills but contains an English section. The English section consists of a 5 minute practice section followed by a 25 minute test. The verbal reasoning section includes a 5 minute section followed by a 20 minute test.

While the second paper will focus on numerical and non-verbal skills. The first section tests Non-Verbal Reasoning and Spatial Reasoning. This includes 5 subtests which all take 5 minutes each, you will have a chance to practice a few questions before the subtests begin. The second section is Mathematics which includes a 5 minute 5 practice section followed by a 25 minute test.
